Breann is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and have been working in the social worker field for over 10 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work at Laurentian University and Master of Social Work at Western University.
Breann has experience working as both an individual and couple therapist, and have worked in hospital settings (acute psychiatry), residential addiction facilities, and the vocational rehabilitation sectors. I have extensive experience working with those living with mental health and addiction concerns at various degrees of severity and am comfortable and confident having conversations surrounding depression, anxiety, substance use, grief and loss, relationship conflict, unhelpful coping strategies, and emotion dysregulation.
Breann's goal as a therapist is to adapt my approach and talk therapy techniques to match your specific goals and experience, so the client she is working with can gain personal insights and benefits during our time together. She has obtained training and education concentrating in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Level One and Two), Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma Informed Practice. She also tries to incorporate mindfulness and solution focused ideas and goals into therapeutic settings when appropriate.
When Breann is not working, she can be found outside hiking or kayaking, or trying to perfect the art of watercolour painting and sourdough bread.
